As an Operations Engineer in the Systems & Infrastructure team, you will work with a team of highly technical Operations Engineers, Software engineers, System Administrators, Product Managers, and business leads to engineer great products, deliver five 9’s uptime, build reliable systems, tools &, automate processes. You will become an expert detective, diving into complex escalations involving technical challenges, engineering problems, customer connects, and platform growth concerns.
What you’ll do:
Design, engineer, deploy and operate world‐class, highly-available, scalable, & reliable products in the IaaS, SaaS, PaaS space.
Be responsible for downtime and maintain the product SLA, capacity planning of the systems, and overall health & performance of large-scale production systems.
Participate in weekly 24/7 oncall rotation, solving escalated tickets, resolving outages, and debugging production issues.
Provide great customer service, respond to escalations and build self‐serving tools/methods for customers and support teams. Work closely with various stakeholders like Engineering, Monitoring and Operations teams, NOC &, business development teams.
Learn innovative technology & practices ‐ devote time for learning and continuous improvement of self and team.
Build automated tools to facilitate rapid issue resolution and deployment of new features and changes.
Strict adherence to automating routine tasks and scripting, with a low tolerance for manual processes.
Monitor Application/Network/System/User behaviour, safeguard the availability of the applications that drive the organization & its customers’ businesses.
Participate in hiring the best talent, assisting in training & onboarding, and mentoring toward ongoing career advancement.
Who you are:
Linux & subsystems (memory, storage, network etc) fundamentals/background.
Networking Fundamentals: DNS, TCP/UDP, IP Routing, HA, & Load Balancing Concepts.
Basic Programming/Scripting Skills (Python, Ruby, Java, Go, Shell)
Understanding of GIT concepts, terminologies, & deployment processes in conjunction with configuration management tools.
Exposure to at least 1 configuration management tool, such as Puppet, Ansible, Chef, etc.
Good broad based troubleshooting skills.
Has worked with hosting control panels like cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin, etc.
Strong interpersonal communication skills (including listening, speaking, and writing) and ability to work well in a diverse, team-focused environment with other teams
