Job Responsibilities:
Understanding of the system software, system architecture, design methodologies, software platform integration with hardware bring up
Understand business requirements, associate them with agile entities (stories/tasks) for planning and execution
Mentor and lead a team of capable engineers to design and develop/port Linux, device drivers for custom hardware platforms
Work closely with hardware team for new platform bring up
Enable platform for research and development of POCs and demos in areas like 5G
Design and develop scalable, maintainable, well mannered (CPU, memory, disk, power, network) automotive grade Linux applications
Basic Qualifications:
Masters/Bachelors degree in electrical, communications, computer engineering or a similar discipline
Should have 10 to 12 years of overall experience.
A solid foundation in computer science, with strong working knowledge in Bootloader, Linux kernel architecture, internals and device drivers
Minimum five years of hands-on experience, in research or industry, developing and/or porting device drivers for ARM based SoC platforms
Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills for kernel failures – crashes/panics
Hands on experience with interfaces like PCIe, SPI, I2C, Ethernet
Hands on expertise in bring up of new hardware
Experience on working with tools like digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, Lauterbach TRACE32 debuggers to troubleshoot and debug hardware
Working experience with industry standard version control systems like GIT, Gerrit
Experience in Agile methodologies, Configuration and Project Management tools
Good written and oral communication skills to collaborate with teams across geographies
Willingness to contribute new ideas and be proactive
Experience with interfacing technical teams of silicon vendors and customers is preferred
Preferred Qualifications & Desired Competencies:
Prior experience with Linux kernel development on hardware platforms with 4G/5G telephony interfaces
Resourcefulness in understanding integration problems and coordinating with multiple teams for issue resolution
