Our team is responsible for the Google Play Console, the tool used by developers to publish apps and games to Google Play and track their performance.
As a Product Manager, you will build our next-generation data platform capable of connecting Google Play user activities to metrics that developers need to run their businesses on Google Play.
Our data platform will be able to answer developer questions like “How valuable are my loyal users vs. new ones?” and “Is my new in-app onboarding experience successful? How does my 7-day retention compare to my peers?”.
Google Play offers music, movies, books, apps and games for devices, powered by the cloud. It syncs across devices and on the web. As part of the Android and Mobile team, Googlers working on Google Play do everything from engineering our backend systems, to shaping product strategy, to forming great content partnerships. They make it possible for people to do things like buy an ebook or song on their Android phone, then have it instantly available on their laptop. The Google Play team enhances the Android ecosystem by giving developers and partners a premium store where they can reach millions of users.
Responsibilities
Work with product teams across the Google Play Console to define data requirements, taking specific requests, and generalizing them into a ‘future-proof’ framework
Make critical product decisions in how metrics are calculated, identifying edge cases and developing the principles to solve them in the most impactful way
Impact the overall Google Play strategy by leading prioritization of feature requests
Represent the Google Play Console with Privacy Team and define a reusable privacy framework.
Lead the public communications strategy with Google Play Marketing for the launch of new metrics and data capabilities
