Job Description : Who You’ll Work With
You will be based out of the McKinsey’s Client Capability Network in Gurugram office as part of the Social, Healthcare and Public Entities (SHaPE) practice.
The SHaPE practice is driven by the mission to measurably improve individuals’ lives, livelihoods and health and create safer and more just communities around the world. You will work closely with SHaPE’s Asia practice leaders, SHaPE operations, communications, risk management colleagues, and global client development colleagues to help deliver this mission.
You will report directly to the Asia SHaPE proposal manager and join our enthusiastic and driven global SHaPE practice team and network of proposal professionals. You will be involved in strategic discussions as you partner with consulting teams and the sector and practice leaders to expand the firm’s impact with Asian Government entities.
What You’ll Do
You will play a key role in proposal management and client development, focusing on supporting end-to-end proposal development and management for Asia SHaPE clients, creating and maintaining a library of proposal materials.
Your day-to-day tasks will include gathering intelligence about upcoming proposals, developing opportunity-specific competitive intelligence analysis and leading primary/secondary research to create knowledge documents (fact packs), whitepapers, etc. for our clients, based on the objectives and requirements of the RFP and formulate the strategy for McKinsey to win the proposal. Additionally, you will ensure key aspects of client intimacy such as salient win themes, relevant hot buttons, resonate throughout the proposal.
You will conduct relevant research, coordinate with internal teams to get credentials, cases, other international experience relevant for Asia proposals. You will also be instrumental in orchestrating communications with visual media coordinators to produce high end proposals, writing select elements of proposals such as value proposition, context and background based on secondary research, etc.
In order to ensure technical compliance of proposals, you will coordinate with all Asia-office tender compliance and legal/risk contacts, working closely with Asia Proposal Desk team management in providing LOP support to the broader Asia region, creating and maintaining a solid repository of ready-to-use ‘standard’ LOP ingredients.
Qualifications
Undergraduate or post graduate degree in a related business discipline
3+ years of experience in end-to-end public sector proposal development; preference for experience at large professional services firms
Experience with entire proposal development process; demonstrated ability to support production of compliant, responsive, and compelling proposals
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with consultants, forging effective relationships across our client service teams
Ability to work with subject matter experts and leadership to develop non-technical sections of the proposal content including past performance, staffing, resumes, and executive summary
Experience working in a global team environment with the ability to complete tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel as well as Adobe Acrobat
Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communications skills
