As a Service Delivery Specialist, you are the face of IBM for our customers. Your clients’ success depends on your ability to understand their needs and respond to requests for new services. This role is an integral part of both account planning and delivering support strategies, working to proactively monitor problems, change processes, and handle issues to ensure our customers success.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Network Engineer Level-2 (Regional Maintenance Center), you will be placed at customer location and will have to demonstrate expertise in one or more networking technology domain area. You will also be involved in deploying, configuring, troubleshooting and operational maintenance of large-scale Router, Switch and Firewall deployments. You are expected to work on Networking products or solutions based on any vendor hardware /vendor operating system software ( ie Vendor agnostic) with little or minimum support from superiors. E.g. include: Skills on Routers/Switches/ Load balancer. Typical examples of the other deliverables would be of deploying, managing and implementing networking solutions to address client business requirements.
Responsibilities:
Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
Configure and install software, servers, routers and other network devices
Testing and configuring software and maintain and repair hardware and peripheral devices
Monitor network performance and integrity
Resolve issues tiers of support have escalated by troubleshooting MPLS and local infrastructure
Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness
Mentor team members on technical issues
Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery)
Communicate with users when needed
Maintain complete technical documentation
Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability
Performing troubleshooting to system failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long term efficiency of network
Responsible for Network Documentation using Visio Tools, MS-Power Point
Configuration and Troubleshooting of routes, VLAN, QoS
Cisco IOS security features and knowledge of security vulnerabilities, threats and attacks
Provide technical support to remote Engineers and guide remote Engineers in providing necessary support in isolation of faults, ordering required parts to warehouse.
Keep track of parts issued to Engineers and share regular reports.
Analyze root cause failures of various breakdown situations and provide RCA reports.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Experienced as a Senior Network Engineer
Professional certification (CCNP R&S/DC/SP Lab certified)
Solid background in network administration, monitoring, and architecture
In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g., MPLS, BGP, OSPF)
Familiarity with access control models and network security
Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g., SolarWinds network tools)
Proven understanding of network operating systems (Cisco IOS, IOS-XR, NX-OS)
Sharp troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently
Organizational and mentoring skills
Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
In-depth experience in configuring and managing Datacentre Cisco Nexus Switches (5K,7K, 9k)
In-depth experience in configuring and managing Datacentre Cisco ASR routers (ASR9K)
Demonstrable experience in Routing and Switching concept (Cisco)
Ability to produce RCA of Severity incidents impacting network with minimum support from Superiors/Seniors within team
Hands on experience – Hardware Module, Installation, Configuration, Troubleshooting for the following listed Routers and Switches
Routers: Cisco ASR 9010, ASR 9006, ISR 4331, ISR 4351
Switches: Nexus NK-C9516, N9K-C93180YC-FX, Nexus 1000v
WAN-AUTOMATION-E
knowledge on how BSNL/MTNL infrastructure works for their customers’ WAN links.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Having completed CCNP certification
