Job Description : About the role
We’re looking for experienced Android developers to help us enhance the in-app experience for millions of visitors to the UK’s leading digital automotive marketplace.
While consumer experience remains the core focus, our iOS and Android developers are paving consumers’ way to buy vehicles online.
We’re revolutionising how we build native apps by taking a ‘backend for front end’ approach and developing a new client-side framework that consumes data and context/layout information from our backend API.
Our app developers take an object-orientated approach to programming and advocate TDD, refactoring and regression test automation to rapidly deliver seamless user experiences. We value collaboration and teamwork. Interactions such as pairing, code reviews and regular stand-ups mean that our app developers stay connected.
What we’re looking for
Experience building and supporting Android Native Apps
Kotlin and Java development experience
Experience in unit testing
Experience with REST
Experience mentoring, coaching and sharing technical expertise
Although not a requirement, helpful experience includes:
Backend development
UI automation testing
Notifications/ Firebase experience

We’re offering a salary between £50,000 and £70,000 dependent on experience, and a flexible benefits package to support your health and well-being. You’ll have 28 days holiday per year, and that’s in addition to bank holidays and half day closures on Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
