Job Description : We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to work closely with Data Analysts and other data users to build and maintain our product analytics data systems. In this role you will transform data collected from our product suite and other sources into a form that can be used with analytic tooling to answer routine and ad hoc questions. You will play a key role in helping us understand exactly how our customers are using our products to inform a variety of people and help them to make the best decisions possible.The ideal candidate strives to enable self-service data access for analytics and brings a business-oriented perspective to data tooling and infrastructure.GraphQL is changing the way developers & teams build software today. Hasura GraphQL Engine is an open source tool that makes it fast and easy to compose a GraphQL API for secure data access across a range of data sources and existing GraphQL and REST APIs. We are excited to be at the intersection of two major ecosystem trends that will have a profound impact on development workflows going forward and we are looking for amazing people who are as excited as we are to join us on this journey!### What the role will involve:Work with data analysts and other data users to update data tools, queries, schemas, and notebooksCreate and maintain data pipelines between internal databases and SaaS applicationsMaintain our data warehouse and ensure quality data availabilityUpdate instrumentation in various systems, either directly or working with other engineers### Requirements:At least 2 years hands-on experience deploying production quality codeSelf motivated and able to lead projects with minimal oversightExperience collaborating with data analysts, and enabling self-service when possibleAdept at data modeling and reportingExperience building ETL and/or ELT pipelines to extract, transform, and ingest dataDeep understanding of SQL and analytical data systems (PostgreSQL and ClickHouse preferred)Experience working with databases to construct queries, set up replication, and do backup & restoreExperience with analytics instrumentation at companies building OSS, On-prem or Cloud (SaaS) softwareExperience setting up and maintaining dashboards and reports, either using third-party software tools or building in-houseExperience with building data systems that are compliant with industry-standard security and privacy considerationsProfessional experience using at least one of Python, Java, or Kotlin for data processing (Python preferred)Knowledge of or experience with data-related Python packagesExcellent written and verbal skills in English#### Nice to have:Experience with PostgreSQL, Clickhouse, Fivetran, DBT, Metabase, Posthog, and JupyterExperience with GraphQL APIs### Location:This role is open to anyone working either remotely in the US (we hire remotely in these states in the US: Illinois, Virginia, California, Washington State, Maryland, Florida, Massachusetts, Oregon, New York, Utah, Arizona and North Carolina) or India, or out of the following locations:Our office in Bangalore, IndiaOur office in San Francisco, US### Working at Hasura:At Hasura, we help developers build modern apps and APIs faster.
