About the team

In this particular role you will drive the people strategy for several business units by identifying and researching issues/challenges; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations in line with Careem’s purpose, values and goals.

You will support key leaders by providing direction, advice, and counsel on people’s matters/challenges whilst ensuring that our tigers are capable, engaged and fulfilled in their roles. You will actively build our talent brand in KSA through the global COE.

This role reports to the Senior Director of People Engagement and the GM KSA.

What you’ll do

Lead people interventions in line with the goals of Careem to drive Colleague Engagement and Careem CVP (colleague value proposition)
Build a compelling talent brand, in conjunction with the relevant teams, that allows us to scale quickly in KSA
Lead the functional implementation of Remote First strategy and activities across the business and implement measures to improve or correct relevant drivers through analysis of feedback and implementation of strategic action planning.
Function as a partner to key leaders and their respective teams, engage in strategic planning, lead data driven decisions and design interventions to translate business needs into people plans. Provide business leaders with data, findings, and recommendations of the respective org’s health by assessing trends in performance, span of control, employee engagement, manager feedback, attrition and turnover, etc.
Provide expertise in designing and delivering targeted solutions including strategic planning, change management, and team building. Develop the future approach to talent including skills and cost based location strategy, future skills, employment models, etc.
Collaborate with COE (center of expertise) to ensure we have the best systems, processes, policies and interventions in place for colleague life cycle at Careem:
Ensure strong collaboration between TA, business stakeholders and PEPs in order to drive performance and best outcomes in recruitment. Strong advocacy for business needs and priorities.
Drive performance management as per Careem guidelines at all levels while ensuring clarity and transparency on the process
Formulate career development plans for growth and development of colleagues and strengthen internal succession planning
Assess colleagues’ development needs and make recommendations for appropriate solutions with respect to learning & development to build capabilities for today and for future at different levels
Partner with the leadership/provide inputs to ensure the optimal operating model is in place
Guide and support business leaders in the introduction and implementation of initiatives developed to drive operating efficiency and effectiveness
Manage and monitor people cost and budgets
Collaborate/coach leadership teams to effectively manage their people in line with the people policy, procedure and people business plans to develop functional business performance whilst managing business risk
Advise and guide our colleagues on all aspects of leadership capability, e.g. performance, collaboration, team working, set and achieve targets around a high performing business function.
Manage complex region specific legislations, eg German Works Council and successfully manage favorable outcomes through negotiations with council members.

What you’ll need

Experience of working in a matrix organisation
Bachelor degree in HR Management, Organizational Psychology with a Masters /MBA preferred. CIPD or certification preferred
8+ years of experience in an HR generalist role
Experience working with global teams, and driving organizational change initiatives and developing talent management plans for a global organization
High levels of resourcefulness, influence/organizational savvy, execution skills (strategy through implementation) as well as executive presence/impact
Strong business acumen and ability to work well across different functions in order to integrate HR and business strategies
Strong desire to help others and intellectual curiosity about people and organization challenges
Excellent problem-solving capabilities and judgment; ability to make sound decisions independently
Effective influencer, communication, and interpersonal skills; great listener
Analytically driven; fluent with data-driven analysis
Comfortable working in a constantly changing environment
Experience in helping organizations scale while maintaining core cultural values
Understanding of cultural norms, traditions, and working with diverse teams

Where you’ll be

Even though we are working remotely, we are strong believers in collaboration and the power of building social connections with our teams. For that reason, our offices are still open and provide plenty of collaboration-friendly spaces at times when teams need it or if you need a quiet space to work outside of home.
You’ll be working in the location you’re hired from. Due to legal and compensation considerations, you will need to be based out of the country you’re hired from as your primary work location.
