Job Description : Senior / Principal Android Developer – Technology Development Group

The department
As an Android Developer, you will work closely with team members in an Agile team. You will work alongside your scrum team, and participate in the full development life cycle, including development, release and implementation support. In doing so, you will be at the forefront of transformation in EZ-Link.
Ensuring quality and performance of application to specifications and maintaining code quality, are how we define and measure success in EZ-Link. You will be part of contributing towards achieving results in your day-to-day role.
Roles & Responsibilities
You will:
Work in the Agile team and work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts and other team members to achieve common goals.
Develop/maintain functionalities to support EZ-Link’s Transit and Payment eco-system and legacy applications. (For mobile developers, EZL’s mobile application.
Participate in the activities such as design, tasks estimation, development, unit testing, releases and production support.
Improve code quality and perform code reviews.
Develop/maintain automated unit test scripts, perform unit testing and validation of requirements with BA/users/stakeholders.
Perform investigation/troubleshooting of issues raised on mobile application/mircoservices/applications.
Keep up-to-date of new technologies, explore and experiment technologies that will help to improve technical efficiencies.
Provide training to end users and documentation to support knowledge transfer.
Develop Proof-of-Concept for new idealation or initiviates.
Identify areas of improvement, improve development efficiency and application quality.
Conduct and lead code review session.
Lead and mentor junior/senior software developer.
Lead, participate and contribute in solution/technical and architecture design.
Subject matter expert in iOS/Android application development framework.

An ideal candidate should have the following
At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Android mobile development (Java).
Experience with RESTful APIs to integrate with back-end services.
Experience with React Native.
Experience in integrating with Firebase products, mainly Analytics, FCM.
Experience in integrating with Google location & map services.
Experience in working with Android libraries such as Retrofit.
Familiarity with VS App Centre is a plus.
Experience with software development tools like Git, Gradle & Jira Software.
Familiarity with Agile based development methodologies.
