If this sounds like you, the Offensive Security Services in the Edge, Platform, Devices, and Gaming (EDG) Security team is looking for you!
We secure the Azure, Windows, Xbox, and Surface businesses. We drive security and product teams across Microsoft to ensure that we have the right tools and services to protect these key businesses with clear focus on end-to-end Supply Chain security. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to advance our security efficiencies+ on Linux platform and infrastructure.
The ideal candidate is someone who loves security and craves creating a world where it is simple for every engineering team at Microsoft to build safe and secure systems / services in Azure.
Responsibilities
Design, implement and manage data center networking solutions leveraging routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls components as well as networking in Azure.
Formulate technical migration plans for with no impact to the services.
Contributes to technical design conversations or reviews with the team
Perform upgrades, new installations, enhancements and configuration changes as needed.
Maintain and update documentation.
Drive secure infrastructure deployments with software engineering solutions (software defined security).
Align development practices, repositories to security standards and recommend security-based architecture changes.
On-call rotation with team members providing incident support.
Evaluate, propose, test and deploy network automation solutions for repetitive tasks.
Coordinate with vendors on support and problem resolution.
Partner and collaborate with peer groups within EDG and Microsoft.
Qualifications
BS or MS in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience
A minimum of 8+ years in management and operations of heterogeneous network environment with security first mindset.
Strong understanding and experience with routing and switching protocols OSPF, BGP, IPV4 & V6, STP, MPLS.
Experience in IPSEC VPN tunnels, Next-generation and stateful firewalls.
Experience in hardware (Cisco, Arista) and operating systems (IOS-XR, NX-OS, EOS).
Experience with load-balancing solutions such as F5.
Experience deploying networks in Azure cloud.
Experience with network monitoring tools such as Solarwinds, Netbrain, Zenoss.
Working knowledge on network automation using Python, Ansible.
Working knowledge on Infrastructure structure as code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience working in a highly complex and dynamic environment.
