Job Description : New Relic is looking for a Field Solutions Architect to join our Labs team in the Data Practice. Field Architects are responsible for developing solutions on the New Relic platform to acquire new or refine existing sources of telemetry, or facilitate inter-operation between New Relic and third-party APIs!
We are looking for you to possess polyglot full stack developer skills, with experience developing and refining requirements to satisfy our customer telemetry acquisition and automation challenges. It will require an individual that is able to quickly get up to speed on technologies and rapidly deliver production-ready code. Projects tend to be small (lasting a few days to weeks in duration) but the delivered code must be bulletproof and easily maintainable!
Beyond the advanced developer skills, a successful candidate will also possess outstanding documentation and communications skills, with a strong sense of customer service. You will be working on a small team of highly experienced software engineers where you will collaborate openly and honestly in a constructive manner.
What You’ll Do
Develop New Relic product extensions based on specifications provided
Work directly with internal and external customers as project liaison, mentored by senior team member
Participate in specification generation with senior team member
Document assets usage and installation
Act as maintainer on repositories both internal and open source
Publish assets in various Newrelic and public channels.
Your Qualifications
Must-have:
Advanced technical skills in multiple domains
Advanced knowledge of systems architecture
Self-sufficient troubleshooting
3-5 years experience in software development skills (Practice dependent)
Presentation skills to credibly engage stakeholders
Preferred experience with Observability and New Relic platform
Nice-to-have:
Core
Software development experience in one or more of the following programming languages: Java, .NET, Golang
Familiarity with the following programming languages: Java, .NET, .NET Core, Golang, JavaScript/Node.js, Rust, PHP, Ruby, Python, C, XC Framework, and Android
Deep knowledge and demonstrated ability to design multi-tier microservices
Experience with virtualized, container, serverless, and fabric compute provisioning and automation
Experience with monitoring technologies including bytecode injection, process sampling, SNMP, and eBPF
Experience working with GitHub and GitHub actions, reference to contributions in GitHub preferred
Familiarity with Open Source telemetry acquisition frameworks: OTel
Web Services HTTP APIs with JSON and gRPC
Experience working in AWS, GCP, and Azure
Experience creating serverless assets (AWS Lambda, GCP functions, Azure Functions)
Advanced Java
Advanced knowledge of bytecode manipulation via ASM, Javassist, (Bcel knowledge is an asset)
Experience developing robust and performant code with significant resource constraints
Experience with multiple advanced frameworks like Kotlin and Scala
Experience using Maven and /or Gradle
Advanced Mobile
Development experience with Objective-C and Swift for iOS, Xamarin, and Kotlin and Java for Android
Experience developing mobile apps with React Native and NativeScripts
Experience with Xamarin mobile platform
Experience with Ionic and Flutter
Advanced Web
Experience with one or more of the following: React.js, Angular, Ruby on Rails, Yii, or Django, JavaScript, Node.js
Experience with JSON data formats REST, gRPC, and DDP APIs
