Roles & Responsibilities
Job brief:
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Web Designer to join our Design & Marketing Team. Reporting directly to the Director, you should exhibit advanced knowledge of design techniques in both web and graphic, and be adept at working in a fast-moving environment. You will also gain experience in people management through guiding junior designers.
Key responsibilities:
Conceptualise creative ideas and convey design concepts through storytelling with mood board, colours, fonts, icons
Present design ideas/website structures to clients, internal marketers and developers using user flows, process flows, site maps and wireframes
Provide UI/UX design and mockups for website and mobile app projects
Design and develop websites for in-house and client websites on WordPress content management systems
Design and optimise graphic content in line with client’s branding for social media, online ads, websites and/or relevant marketing collateral
Update and maintain content, layout and styling issues across different browsers and devices
Work with IT and Marketing to ensure websites don’t just look good, but are built right
Mentor and guide junior designers on best practices, design trends, and help them to improve their designs and techniques year on year
Must haves:
At least 4 years of web and graphic design experience (portfolio showcase required), preferably with an advertising agency/design house
Relevant diploma/degree in related fields (graphic design, multimedia, etc)
Proficiency in English
Proficiency in graphic design software including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other visual design tools
Proficiency in WordPress content management system
Ability to set up, build and develop web pages on WordPress
Up-to-date experience with international web protocols, standards, and technologies
Proven ability to communicate creative solutions with confidence, clarity and express abstract ideas visually
Ability to work both independently and in a creative team
Meticulous, with a strong sense of urgency and good time management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Good to have:
Proficiency in front-end development web programming languages such as PHP, HTML, CSS3, JQuery, and JavaScript
Familiarity with video editing
Good understanding of search engine optimisation basic principles
