Do you want to get the opportunity to learn computer vision on the job and build a distributed system which can handle throughputs greater than 75000 TPS? If yes, then this opportunity is ideal for you where you will not only get the opportunity to work on building a brand new platform around AI/CV, but also ensure that it can handle the Amazon catalog scale, which is growing at 30% year on year.
We tackle some of the most complex challenges in the industry today to create intelligent algorithms to automatically identify and control hazardous or controlled substances products to make sure that we protect the safety of Amazon customers, partners and employees, while continuing to offer the Earth’s biggest selection of products. You will need to build Amazon scale applications running on our cloud that both leverage and create new technologies to process large volumes of data that derive patterns and conclusions from the data. This opportunity will entail building capabilities right from storage plane to control plane in a fashion that can handle Amazon-scale latency (P99 100ms) and throughput(75000 TPS) challenges. It’s an interesting opportunity to work on Amazon scale and at the same time get the opportunity to innovate in the Computer Vision and applied science space.

Master’s degree and/or PhD preferred in mathematics, computer science, or related discipline
A deep understanding of distributed and service-oriented architectures.
Experience with Agile Development techniques
Experience in large scale data mining and big data.
Experience with technologies like Hadoop, Rules based systems and Machine learning
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills and listening skills. This will include the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, including non-technical
