Job summary
Amazon Fire TV team is looking for experienced, results-oriented Software development Engineers in Test(SDET) who are capable of designing and building automation frameworks that will improve time to market. As an SDET, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, design and develop innovative consumer products. As a Software Development Test Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of technologies from front-end UI (both web and device) to back-end distributed web services to device software. You will own the design and implementation of tests that will help in end-to-end quality of major deliverables.

The test software you will build should expose API defects in production level code as well as defects at the component and feature integration perspective. Quality Assurance Engineers test code at the user level, both manually and with automated tools. Our QA Engineers are not pure black box testers; they test at the appropriate level and are able to understand software internals, debug problems using log files, and write automated tests with scripts and/or user-level automated tools. QA Engineers work with Software Development Engineers, and Business Owners to understand technical implementation of features. QA Engineers will also work with groups such as Product Management, User Interaction, and Customer Support to understand customer usage models and develop test plans and suites that approximate real-world environments and regression tests and driving the software development process towards quality focused methodologies, always seeking to avoid defects or find them earlier in the process

About the team
FTVE-SDL team owns the Quarterly system release updates that goes to all existing FireTV edition devices across all regions that include NA, EU and IN. This team owns planning, execution, certification of these quarterly releases.Automation is mandatory to certify the exponential FireTV expansion. This teams owns creating the new test cases automation, Automation stabilisation, adoption and consumption. This team also owns certify FireTV remotes.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical field
Experience with Android, iOS or other mobile application development or testing
Experience working in a UNIX/Linux environment and utilizing virtual machines
Knowledge of industry standard test automation tools and experience developing product test harnesses
Experience working closely with development and business teams.
Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem solving skills
Debugging/troubleshooting experience on performance and stability tools.
