Software Engineer – Scala/Java/JavaScript/HTML/CSS
We’re seeking a motivated full-stack software engineer to our dynamic team to work on the Code Dx product offering within Synopsys’ Software Integrity Group (SIG) – the market leader in providing solutions for building trust in software. SIG is all about building secure software—faster. That starts with our static analysis, software composition analysis, and dynamic analysis, so our customers can build security and quality into their code at any stage of the software development lifecycle and across the supply chain. All while minimizing risks and maximizing speed of application development.
This Software Engineer role will work on advancing the Code Dx platform which integrates all your application security (AppSec) test results into a centralized location and automates the most time-intensive tasks to speed up testing and remediation. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Scala, JavaScript, and Java to help us create web-based tools that aid developers in writing better, more-secure software. You will play an effective role in the full application development lifecycle. You will work with customers to understand their needs, maintain the latest tools and techniques for software security, shape projects, define tasks, and build solutions. This is a hands-on role for a person with solid analytical and communication skills, and a keen focus on helping our users write better code.
In the development of the Code Dx platform, we practice user-focused design, with simple but efficient user interfaces combined with powerful visualizations. We rely on Scala to achieve our goals, use agile techniques to communicate effectively, and focused market study to stay ahead of the curve.

Software Engineer Duties and Responsibilities
Work on architecture, design, and product definition that drives influential decisions and outcomes related to project direction;
Has a team-player mentality – can communicate effectively with all team members;
Attracted to learning new technologies and expanding existing software to meet the changing needs of our key demographics;
Able to communicate complex material to technical and non-technical audiences;
Develop high quality, deliverable software with little management intervention or oversight.
Software Engineer Job Requirements and Qualifications
2+ years of experience in software development;
Proven experience working on web-based applications across the full development stack;
Proficiency with Scala (including Cats and/or Shapeless, Monix, sbt), Java, JavaScript/React, HTML/CSS and SQL;
Stellar written and oral communication skills.
Nice-to-haves:
Experience working with static or dynamic analysis tools;
Understanding of application security;
Experience with containers, Kubernetes, Docker, or Go.
