Your Day to Day
We are looking for a talented Senior or Staff Cloud Engineer who will help support our industry-leading communications and collaboration products. This role aligns with our Global Infrastructure Services business unit and is part of a team of Cloud and Infrastructure engineers focused on helping our customers achieve their business goals by maintaining the uptime and reliability of our GoTo products.
For this position, the engineer is responsible for the development and maintenance of our on-premise Kubernetes cluster lifecycle. This includes deployment, automation, event monitoring, and second-level support for the platforms, including participation in on-call rotation support. Collaboration with other teams within GoTo will be critical to the success of this role.
The ideal candidate is someone with a strong background in DevOps, system administration and cloud technologies. The candidate must be highly motivated, possess outstanding communication skills and be willing to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and growing environment. The individual draws on his or her experience when analyzing data, evaluating workflow processes and working with various operational toolsets.
Build, test, deploy, and manage the Kubernetes clusters with build automation (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
Administrative support of on-premise platform (bare metal, OpenStack, etc.) hosting Kubernetes clusters
Orchestrate staging and production deployments
Utilize code repository and CI/CD for cluster administration
Configure and troubleshoot basic cluster networking (container, data network, host, VLANs, etc.)
Monitor cluster health and tune maximum system availability and service quality
Perform cluster patching & upgrades
Maintain documentation regarding configurations, operations and troubleshooting procedures
Assist in evaluating new requirements, technical design and standards
Support user’s query and service requests
What we are looking for:
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science / related studies or 5+ years experience in Linux Systems Administration or DevOps
Experience with setup and administration of on-premise Kubernetes clusters
Solid understanding of Kubernetes architecture and API objects
Experience with RHEL & CentOS Linux operating systems
Knowledge and practical experience with Docker
Sysadmin/SRE/DevOps Automation skills
Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible, etc.
Bash or Python scripting experience
Working experience with source control systems like Git and Bitbucket
Solid understanding of network technologies like DNS, Load Balancing, SSL, TCP/IP, HTTP.
Optional Qualifications – What would make you stand out:
Experienced with OpenStack platform
Experience with cloud Kubernetes platforms (EKS, AKS, GCP)
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
RHCSA certification (EX200)
