Job Description
Would you like to be a part of an exciting agile team and have the opportunity to design, develop and maintain highly available web applications? Does the idea of solving challenging technical problems and getting to the bottom of layered intricacies intrigue you? Do you have the zeal and the persistence to see through our vision of Next Generation, Self-Healing Cloud Infrastructure Automation till go-live and make it a reality?
Then you are invited to come and be a part of our team and work together to build a wide variety of web experiences which power, extend and showcase Visa’s internal Cloud platform. This includes but is not limited to building capabilities for requesting and managing environments using either VMs, containers or bare metal, workflow automation tools, graphs and visualizations for relationships/utilization and a whole lot more.
On this team, you will create efficient and reusable systems with extensive test coverage and modern technologies. You will also work in a rapidly iterative environment where we prototype new user interfaces, services and ship new code frequently. Ultimately, you will have the opportunity to own projects by driving architectural, product and technological decisions.
Essential Functions:
Design, develop and maintain scalable, distributed, multi-threaded applications
Write High Quality, testable and production ready code
Showcase excellent debugging and problem solving skills.
Be a proactive player and have a passion for delivering zero defect high quality code.
Collaborate with team members and participate in design reviews, development and code reviews
Align with the direction and information provided by the Management, Technology and Business Counterparts to drive deliver robust and usable solutions to meet functional requirements.
Create documentation and procedures for development, deployment and maintenance
Deliver all assigned responsibilities in a timely manner and with a high level of quality.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
5 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)
Preferred Qualifications:
4-6 years of work experience and a Bachelor’s Degree or2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters)Solid understanding of Object-Oriented design and programming conceptsExperience building REST based web services & web applications using Java and Spring FrameworkExperience with JavaScript, HTML 5 and CSSExperience with a modern front end SPA framework like AngularBuild Microservices that connect to MySQL, MongoDB and KafkaGood understanding and technical expertise in Microservices, Docker and KubernetesExperience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure or Google Cloud) and building automation around their APIsWorking knowledge of infrastructure, ensuring high-availability, scaling, service discovery, logging, monitoring and alerting.Good understanding of Infrastructure as Code, Automation, and OrchestrationAmazon AWS or Microsoft Azure certification desirable but not a mustFamiliarity with monitoring and logging solutions such as Prometheus, SplunkExperience writing unit and integration test casesExperience of building software/frameworks for infrastructure automation and orchestrationHands-on experience with Linux and Windows. Familiarity with Linux is highly desired.Process oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills
