Your Role and Responsibilities
As Mainframe DB2 Database Administrator, you are responsible to provide technical support for DB2 DB Servers with high degree of Customer Happiness by meeting Service Level Agreements (SLA) and process compliance. You will perform business impact analysis and risk assessments to reduce the likelihood of significant service outage or disasters.

Responsibilities
Adopt the given technology to meet the drift of customer and business requirements
Manages DB2 table changes to support application design and development efforts.
Responsible for application database backups, reorgs, migration between environments.
Supports Application Group Change Management migration of DB2 code, STP’s, security for production migrations.
Supports Custom Archive purge procedures and jobs as required.
Uses Change Control procedures for system changes that impact the DB2 database instances that support CICS, DB2 stored procedures or packages, or other environments, e.g. Batch job submission.
Lead DB2 Application support for Disaster Recovery with the Outsourcer for database recovery with the outsourcers technical DBA’s,
Manage, review, and communicates database projects with the Application, Infrastructure, and Outsourcer. e.g., DB2 upgrade, or required changes with outsourcer.
Support and assist End Users for proper access and database security.
Support and maintain production to test database downloads.
Handles Reporting Tool Admin and support issues, e.g. QMF.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Application DBA experience in ZOS DB2/Mainframe DB2
Ability to craft and alter of DB2 object according to custom’s requirement (Ex: Database, Table space, Table, Index, etc)
Demonstrable experience with DB2 common command (familiar with other command), Stop/Start Databases, Display command, cancel thread and term utility
Experience in Online utility: Running Reorgs and Runstats, Backup and Recovery of Table spaces (copy & recover), Repair, Load/Unload utilities,
Proficient in DB2 Stand-alone utilities: like DSNJU003, DSNJ003, DSN1COP etc.
• Ability to provide Grants to users for appropriate groups/authorities, familiar with DB2 privileges. • Working knowledge of SQL, knows to use query to check catalog table and find necessary for system usage.

Validated ability to manage operation on zOS, familiar with JCL used by DB2.
Strong analytical, good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent English both verbal and written communication skills and capable of independently communicating with customers.
Should be flexible to work in shifts (24/7)
Exposure to IT Service Management
Good to have an experience working in Agile or Waterfall software development process
Knowledge on Agile tools, Remedy or ServiceNow Nice to have skills:
Certified in the use DB2 tool – DB2 Admin tools, QMF, craft on tool such as DB2 Omegamon.
Ability to rebind the Plans/Packages, Granting required accesses to ackages/Plans/Collections.
Experience in Database Monitoring- DB2 tool omegamon to check current trace/status of any object.
Proficient in troubleshooting DB2 system log and bring up the problem if it cannot be fixed.
DB2 performance tuning & COBOL Programming knowledge.
Ambitious individual who can work under their own direction towards agreed targets/goals and with creative approach to work.
Intuitive individual to manage change and proven time management.
Proven interpersonal skills while contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Up-to-date technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications.
Basic procedure of DB2 system/tools applying PTF and tools upgrade
Good to have the ITSM/ITIL knowledge/Certifications
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
5 to 7 years of experience in DB2 DBA for Z/OS
Extensive knowledge and skill in performance tuning
Provides DB2 support and utilizes troubleshooting and diagnostic tools.
Sets up and maintains data structures and database environments to support production, performance
and development activities.Experience in applications development and support (VSAM, DB2 LUW, SAS, JCL, Stored Proc and Utilities)
Hands on experience on DB2 V11 and above.
Manages DB2 table changes to support application design and development changes.
Should have experience in DB2 database regular housekeeping activities.
Responsible for application database backups, reorgs, data migration between environments.
DB2 REORG and RUNSTATS procedures.
Monitor database performance and recommend improvements for operational efficiency.
Should be able to Refresh the data and well versed with DB2 online and Offline utilities.
