The O2C Collection Manager is responsible for the E2E cash collection processes limiting past dues and thus maximizing cash flow. The manager is responsible for managing business performance thru professional collectors and creating a team environment that emphasis the Novartis Values and Behaviors.

Thought leadership regarding best practices, continuous improvement and system utilization and ability to execute the E2E collections.

Your responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ensures the collection team is effective through coaching and support. Effectively communicates with stakeholders including customers, commercial teams and other financial reporting functions.Defines collection strategies for a group of collectors and portfolios that maximizes cash flow. Drives operational excellence by analyzing and improving results in average days delinquent, past dues and reducing risk / bad debt provisions by recognizing trends early and taking appropriate actionsFosters a continuous improvement culture that challenges the status quo and ensures best practices are implemented throughout the collection organization.Supports that all processes, policies and procedures are clearly defined, documented, and implemented in line with Novartis standards and consistent with best practices. Ensures compliance with Novartis Accounting Manual (NAM), Novartis Financial Controls Manual (NFCM) and regulatory requirementsEnsures application of agreed Novartis control procedures and actively support to deliver SOX certification. Remediates any control issues timelyRole models a leadership style, which is inclusive, proactive, respectful, and results driven. Manages a diverse team (on/ off-shore) in a collaborative manner creating a high-performing organization
Supports and coaches the workforce to inspire an un-bossed culture. Builds and strengthens the capabilities of the team by identifying, developing and overseeing talentProvides leadership, training and development to ensure a high performance team aligned with Novartis Values and Behaviors

Minimum requirements
What you’ll bring to the role:
University level degree in Business Administration/ Economics/Finance or Chartered Accountant / MBA desirable. Lean/ Six Sigma Certified preferred~12 years of financial experience in O2C, preferred in collections or customer serviceDemonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-national, matrix organizationTeam lead experience; SAP knowledge
Experience of managing projects driving performance (e.g. ERP implementation). Excellent people and communication skills
