Wells Fargo is seeking a Database Engineering Manager…

In this role, you will:
Manage and develop teams that maximize quality, efficiency and productivity
Evaluate the database configuration and processes according to established policies and procedures of the organization
Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development
Establish performance standards, evaluate performance, train and mentor team
Develop in policies and procedures and training materials
Make decisions and resolve issues regarding objectives and operations of the fleet assets in the database management area to meet business objectives
Interpret and develop policies and procedures for functions with low to moderate complexity within scope of responsibility
Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
Lead team to achieve objectives
Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Database Management
Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent
Required Qualifications, International:
10 + years Experience in Database Management, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
5 + years Leadership experience

Job Expectations:
Establish the Yugabyte and PostgreSQL team in India. Expected to have good knowledge in either PostgreSQL or Yugabyte and solid engineering background. The person filling this position must be able to work closely with External (Vendors) and internal (Development/ Platform/ Architects / Product Managers) stakeholders to influence and accelerate the adoption of Yugabyte and PostgreSQL inline with our database strategy
The Engineering Manager position will lead the multiple teams providing the highest technical expertise for the planning, analysis, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of the organization’s server-class databases, engaging with DBA teams, architecture, Scrum Master, and Product Owners and supporting teams to create efficient and consistent solutions. They will be expected to assure successful sprint and release planning following agile development methodology. Lead the most complex or critical data/ database management initiatives that typically involve multiple disciplines and multiple business groups, including database architecture, design, integration, and/or data modeling. Assist operations team in database installations, including troubleshooting and problem resolution. Recommend improvements to web application processing issues and design. As the recognized technical expert, consults extensively with multiple client groups to provide strategic solutions, influencing long-range internal and enterprise-level data/ database architecture and management strategies. Ability to handle multiple/conflicting projects and deadlines. Ability to work on call and provide 24/7 production support.
