What You Will Be Doing
The Database Administrator will be responsible for design, implementation, migration, monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting & tuning databases, provide guidance to team on technical solutions pertaining to database and related technologies. The job requires experience in MS SQL Server. Any expertise in MySQL/MariaDB/PostgreSQL, NOSQL technologies like MongoDB or HADOOP, SnowFlake is a plus. The job requires the individual to work both individually and as part of a team to maintain and support a world class database engine for compliance solutions.
Responsibilities:
Manages and maintains all production and non-production databases across multiple complex SQL Server and MariaDB/PostgreSQL DBMS implementations.
Design, develop and implement high-availability and disaster recovery for SQL Server and MariaDB/PostgreSQL environments based on service level standards defined.
Leading all database related activity, ensuring best practices in database design and engineering, administration, and performance and tuning.
Maintain and enhance database standards, controls, procedures and documentation.
Leading efforts in adapting to new technologies and transforming to reliability engineering model.
Actively work on creating solutions that transform business needs, delivering through cloud, open source and other alternate technology paths.
Generating ideas for improvement and taking advantage of opportunities, suggesting innovations, setting challenging goals
Planning and organizing the tasks and work responsibilities to achieve business objectives
Communicates effectively with leaders and management on project status and any work assignments.
Perform additional duties as directed by the supervisor consistent with rank and position
Design, develop and implement high-availability and disaster recovery for SQL Server and MariaDB environments based on service level standards defined.
Develops and maintains runbooks, procedures, automates recurring tasks.
Education and Experience:
8+ years of experience with database administration or system administration with on large scale database environments
