We are looking for an Developer II to to join our growing and diverse team
WHAT YOUâLL DO:

As a Developer III, you will…
Your role includes day-to-day coding work where you’ll be creating well designed, cohesive and highly decoupled systems. You’ll be responsible for adhering to coding standards and helping to define new ones. You’ll need to write unit tests and possibly some end-to-end tests, perform code reviews and pair with other developers, both for mentoring and information sharing. You’ll need to be comfortable diving deep into the existing code to figure out how to implement things so that they will fit into the current system.
This position will report to the Senior Manager.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Skills
Analysis and Dissemination :
A qualified candidate will be able to take a problem definition, wireframes, user stories or a light product specification and analyze it to find any hidden constraints or assumptions. The candidate should be able to come up with a rough plan to develop a solution with a cost and time estimate, and have the ability to create tickets which have enough detail for other developers to be able to act on them to create part of the system, at least to create an initial version suitable for code review.
RDBMS and Data Modeling:
An in-depth knowledge of a major RDBMS, both the DDL and DML is required. A candidate must be able to create an effective data model from a problem description and use SQL DML to generate the appropriate tables and views to support that. They
must be able to explain what “first normal form” is as well as its pros and cons, and know what the typical performance bottlenecks are with a database system and how to detect, diagnose and mitigate them.
Knowledge of Software Development Fundamentals:
A candidate must be familiar with the concepts behind Object Oriented Programming. The candidate must be able to explain the value of Abstractions, Encapsulation and Polymorphism. The ability to write highly cohesive yet highly decoupled methods and classes is key. Candidates must be able to write unit tests and explain the pros and cons of using Mocks and Stubs. The ability to understand the basics of software

Some React Framework Experience:
Finally, candidates should have experience using the ReactJS Framework. They must have an understanding of the ReactJS data flow pattern, and understand the key lifecycle hooks used to perform AJAX lookups or other operations. Understanding of Redux and sagas is also a strong plus.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Minimum 6+ years of total work experience in application development.
5 years of Application Development in Ruby.
5 years of Application Development with Ruby on Rails.
5 years experience with RDMS, PostgreSQL preferred.
3 years of experience with React JS or a similar Javascript framework (such as
Angular).
Familiarity with Unit Testing and Test Driven Development, applied experience in
these areas preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work remotely as part of an agile (Scrum/Kanban) team.
Familiarity with distributed source control using Git, and common branching and
merging strategies.
