SUMMARY
The Devops team at Ariba at the tip of the spear within SAP’s global public cloud transition.As a DevOps Engineer, you will be at the heart of the engineering process building infrastructure & automation that will touch almost every aspect of the different products. You will get an opportunity to work with a high energy team employing some of the industry wide devops practices. You will also get the opportunity to transition the products to public cloud platform with a scope on multiple cloud vendors(GCP,AWS,Azure. ROLE & EXPECTATIONS
DevOps Engineers work closely with other engineers and SREs to build automation for engineering products and also build infrastructure as code.
You’ll work across shared service departments, lines of businesses and global teams to deliver high quality services and ensure business goals are met.
The role will focus on breaking down complex problems into tactical actions and implement engineering innovations.
This role requires extensive cross-group coordination across levels, excellent communication skills, that span across various horizontal functions.
You will be responsible for developing solutions, implementing requirements, creating key processes, procedures, that facilitate automation and execution.
You’re equally at home explaining complex recommendations to Engineering and Operation teams. You are highly resourceful, analytical, have a combination of focus, flexibility, self-motivation, integrity, willingness to put the team and company’s interest above all else.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Automate operational processes as needed, with accuracy and in compliance with security requirements
Have a good understanding of any public cloud systems lik GCP, Azure, and/or AWS Cloud Services, Network Infrastructure, Security Capabilities, Storage Solutions, Database Services/Tooling and Identity & Access.
Experience with any of the configuration management tools like Ansible, Salt or Chef is desirable.
Scripting skills in Python, Perl, Bash, Shell or another common language
Good knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.
Should have knowledge on Source Control tools like GIT & P4.
Good to have understanding of virtualization and global infrastructure, load balancing, networking, security and operations
Team-first outlook including building great working relationships with peers across functions
Experience in implementing scalable cloud-based solution architectures
BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering related field or equivalent practical experience
