Role Purpose
The role of the Management Accountant sits within the Finance team for World Challenge and will work as part of a team of Assistants and Analysts covering all the functional areas of Finance.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Finance Reporting
Management of cash forecast
Month-end reconciliations, and processing invoices/expenses.
Responsibilities
As Australia opens up following prolonged covid lockdowns our Management Account must be focused, with a flexible approach, as we rebuild our team and business.
Supported by the Finance Manager in Australia and our Head Office team in the UK, our Management Accountant will be expected to
Record and report on weekly cash movements
Prepare weekly cash forecasts – looking ahead 13 weeks
Contribute to monthly management accounts finalisation
Load Trial Balance actuals and forecast P&L / Balance sheet into HFM (Travelopia consolidation software)
Prepare month end reconciliations
Responsible for credit card posting and reporting
Post daily banking receipts and reconcile to reservation system
Share responsibility for coding and posting supplier invoices to the Finance System (MYOB)
Complete various ad-hoc administrative duties
Communicate with suppliers/colleagues by telephone and email, investigating and responding to queries
Back up for Finance Manager during their leave
As the Australian market grows to pre pandemic levels, we’ll look to recruit Accounts Payable/Receivable staff which will mean this role becomes an over seeing one rather than processing.
Special Requirements of the job
Although line management resides in Australia, daily communication with the UK finance team is vital, communication will be key to delivering month end reporting deadlines.

Our Management Accountant should be:

You’re a team player with a strong work ethic, high attention to detail and accuracy
You’re highly organized with the ability to prioritize and work to deadlines.
Knowledge & experience
Our Management Account must have:
Excellent in excel and a good understanding of Microsoft Office applications (esp. Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams)
Experience of multiple finance systems, MYOB, SAP or similar experience.
The ability to produce monthly accounts to Trial Balance stage.
Liaised with Independent auditors to complete the year end requirements
Formal professional finance qualification. Qualified professionals in finance.
Passion to deliver the very best customer service.
The ability to deal with multiple stakeholders at any given time.
