What success looks like in this role:
P&L/ Management
Hands on experience in maintaining ETC for the project and reporting Revenue and Margin per month, actively raises issue/risk if there are any.
Has engagement level services profitability responsibility and manages services delivery for multiple engagements.
Manages financials and operational metrics for multiple and/or large complex engagements.
Ensures that the organization’s strategy is consistent with Unisys strategy.
Achieves profitable revenue growth through the successful implementation of the business strategy.
Responsible for managing a P&L up to 5M in services value.
Identify opportunities for effective utilization of resources and thereby reducing the cost. Suggest cost effective measurements by moving the work low cost location wherever applicable (Both nearshore and offshore).
Project Management and Service Delivery
Hands on experience with implementing agile scrum methodology for green field development project with multiple scrum teams consists of Developers/Testers.
Experience with measuring Velocity for scrum team as well as at release level and incorporate processes/methodology to improve velocity consistently.
Experience in coming up process improvements from Retrospective ceremony based on lessons learnt
Experience in forecasting the release with appropriate estimation using story points and come up with resource plan based on the forecasted story points.
Actively work with recruitment team for hiring needs.
Bring innovation where possible
Manages the delivery and implementation of services within planned timelines, budget, margins, SLAs, KPIs, OKRs and quality specifications.
Consistently delivers high value, “client ready” work with minimal supervision.
Applies business process methodologies to client business problems. Combines knowledge of business process methodologies with a deep knowledge of their domain and/or solution to sell, design and deliver a full range of solutions.
Leads and/or supports the implementation of change management, business process redesign or information planning.
Consistently achieves or exceeds engagement revenue, margin, service level objectives and quality targets.
Effectively manages engagement risks, identifying and promptly notifying senior management of the potential impact of such risks and alternative approaches to mitigating them.
Client Relationship Management
Excellent client communication
Regular weekly status update to client highlighting the progress, risks &issues
Builds ‘client for life’ relationships. Interfaces with the client’s technical executives to understand their business challenges and recommend innovative integrated business solutions.
Participates in new business opportunities and add-on opportunities that result in profitable revenue growth within the client.
Manages the performance of internal and external service providers in order to ensure the implementation of deliverables and resulting client satisfaction. Interfaces with sub-contractors.
May write accurate and effective statements of work so that both the client and Unisys staff understands the project expectations and roles. May create change orders when additional work is required is outside the original contracted scope and/or services proposal.
People Management
Manages and leads a span of 35-50 associates (direct or matrixed), including their training, development, performance and career path.
Work with associates to set goal, monitor and track progress. Give quantitative feedback to associates.
Advocates and models a strong focus on performance management, development, career growth, engagement, and diversity within the practice.
Attracts and appropriately motivates professionals to achieve or exceed growth, productivity and profitability targets.
Works with Unisys recruiting to maintain a pipeline of outside experienced professionals.
Business and Industry Skills
Work with senior management and actively participate in grooming technology practices such as DevOps/Testing/UX practices.
Proactively work with client identify new opportunities for Unisys
Advanced in one or more domains. Demonstrates marketable expertise in at least two market segments and/or functional/technical areas of specialization.
Forecasts, plans, implements and reviews financial and people resources in order to meet defined business requirements in line with company strategic plans, targets and objectives. Defines intermediate goals and contingencies.
Communicates in an open, candid, clear, complete and consistent manner. Listens well and gives full attention when others are speaking. Demonstrates maturity, self-confidence and self-control in formal and informal interactions.
Understands the meaning and implications of key financial indicators. Analyzes, integrates and utilizes financial data to accurately diagnose business realities, to identify issues and to develop strategies and plans.
Performance and Quality Management
Recommending methods of improvement and seeing that actions are implemented on time for service delivery upgrades
Providing accurate and regular reports to the management on performance of the service delivery
Leading personnel management, including staff recruitment, performance assessment, training, and mentoring
Building strong relationships with teams and stakeholders to enable effective dialogue exchange between departments
Qualifications
You will be successful in this role if you have:
Good experience of at least 12+ years leading Software Development, Maintenance and Support teams.
Good exposure in leading on-premises, hybrid and cloud based solutions.
Proven history of ‘getting things done’
Should be a self-starter to identify what needs to be done, take ownership and drive things to conclusion with minimal oversight.
Good awareness of when there is a need to escalate and when to just press on with things.
Should be able to influence, support and drive others who do not have a reporting line to you as much of what you’ll need to deliver in your own will need support from multiple projects
• University degree or equivalent education and experience. ‘• Advanced experience within a managed services business. • Average 10+ years of professional service experience managing a service line. • Relevant industry certifications preferable. • Active participation in professional communities, forums and social media. Key Metrics The following are broad guidelines that generally apply on a consistent basis across Unisys. Other factors may be considered such as strategic importance of key accounts/ practices, business trends, and external market conditions resulting in exceptions to these guidelines: • Responsible for managing a P&L up to 5M in services value. • Manages and leads a span of 35-50 associates (direct or matrixed).
