Job Description : Title: Manager or Sr Manager – Finance operations and Controllership

Location: Pune

Job Summary: This role is responsible for developing and leading finance operations and controllership responsibility for a growth stage start up. This role directly reports to VP Finance and work closely to define to execute the finance vision to be a trusted partner to business.

Job Description
Lead core accounting activities including month close co-ordination, internal management reporting, general accounting for India and US operations.
Leading small team of accountants to ensure timely and accurate general Ledger Accounting, Fixed Assets Accounting, Accounts Payable including employee reimbursement process, Inter-company Accounting and fund movement
Oversee payroll operations and work closely with HR and payroll vendor for timely and accurate payroll processing. Work closely with HR Ops and leadership to optimize and automate payroll processing
Work collaboratively with HR, IT, and other functions to be a trusted partners in internal initiatives and provide support from finance and procurement perspective
Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close by working closely with stakeholders.
Prepare and publish timely & accurate financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements and internal KPI reporting.
Work with statutory and internal auditors for timely and effective closure. Will include audit planning, tracking, discussions, and conclusion of issues.
Ensure direct and indirect tax compliances in the areas of Income Tax, Transfer pricing, GST and FEMA, managing exceptions and provide advisory support to for special transactions to help management to take appropriate decision making
Support the Finance team in continuous improvement and innovation. Includes design, testing and roll-out of financial reporting systems/tools/processes.
Liaison with the auditors, bankers and consultants/service providers to ensure mutually beneficial relationship
Manage other controllership responsibilities such as insurance program management, help drafting technical accounting guidance for special or new transaction, implementing new accounting standards such as revenue recognition
Support the VP Finance on special / ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives

Required Skills & Qualifications:
A Chartered Account with 4-6 years’ experience (Industry and/or combined audit and industry experience preferred)
Should have relevant experience into managing medium scale finance operations and controllership responsibilities.
Problem-solving and decision-making capacity in a high growth environment.
Demonstrated ability to build new capabilities, with a process orientation.
Comfortable leading teams through ambiguity and be a champion of change.
High emotional intelligence, ability to build and sustain relationships at multiple levels within and outside of finance.
Passionate and persistent about operational excellence.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, active listener, tailors communication to the audience.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and adhere to tight deadlines.
SaaS industry and working with MNC is desirable.
