Job Description : Within the Data & Model Governance team in Data & Analytics, the Model Governance Manager role will be responsible for developing and implementing policies and standards for models, control procedures, assisting teams with model validation activities, providing guidance on a model’s appropriate usage in the business context, evaluating ongoing model performance testing and ensuring that model users are aware of the model strengths and limitations.
About the Role:
In this role, you will:
Provide technical leadership:
Create framework for model governance activities. The objective is to ensure that models are used appropriately in the business context and that model users are aware of the models’ strengths and limitations and how these can impact their decisions.
Document responsibilities throughout the End-to-End Model Lifecycle eg., model developer, model user, model owner.
Ensuring peer-review model validation includes steps to evaluate conceptual use case and design, reasonableness of assumptions, reliability of data inputs, completeness of testing, adherence to implementation procedures, robustness of numerical aspects; suitability and comprehensiveness of performance metrics and risk measures associated with use of model.
Develop and implement enterprise-wide model risk policies and procedures to guide sound development, implementation, and use of quantitative techniques across TR.
Be Collaborative:
Collaborate with model developers and users to streamline and normalize oversight processes.
Communicate model risk governance metrics and policies through impactful training materials and presentation.
Manage interactions with external regulators and auditors as needed.
Provide oversight in large modeling initiatives for alignment with company policies and industry practices.
Responsible for managing and maintaining the model repository.
Assist Risk team to determine risk ratings of models and level of oversight and documentation required.
Work with Legal and Compliance on Bias & Fairness across global jurisdictions.
Model Risk Management: establish model monitoring processes ie., to oversee remediation efforts/activities when there is skew and drift. Determine model review responsibilities, reporting and frequencies.
Provide people leadership: manage and lead a small team of sr. analysts
About You:
Bachelor’s degree in statistics, math, engineering, finance, economics, computer sciences, or business required with 5+ years of experience
Experience in analytics and the application of model governance
Experience creating governance and control programs
Strong communication skills
Strong writing and organizational skills
Ability to coordinate activities across the company with various stakeholders
Ability to work with highly technical individuals
Understanding of model development process and drivers of model risk
Understand model risk management regulatory expectations
Exceptional interpersonal skills with proven experience in relationship building and partnering. Must work well in both team and individual settings and must be able to work with a geographically dispersed team
