Job Description : POSITION OVERVIEW: Responsible for assigned international indirect tax compliance, tax account reconciliations, and tax research to ensure accurate and timely filing of returns.
Primary Responsibilities-
Assist with preparation or review of indirect tax compliance including Value Added Tax (VAT), Goods and Services Tax (GST), and other indirect tax for various countries in Europe, Middle East and Asia regions.
Assist with indirect tax audits as needed.
Support the International Senior Tax Manager in meeting local statutory requirements, including monthly or quarterly tasks involving posting, approving and/or reconciling income and non-income tax journal entries and accounts
Coordination with Senior Tax Manager in Zurich for indirect tax matters.
Provide oversight for external advisors who prepare indirect tax returns.
Collection of data needed for indirect tax compliance from Oracle, Vertex, and Hyperion.
Calculate or review monthly and/or quarterly journal entry postings and upload into Oracle.
Prepare or review quarterly account reconciliations.
Performing required internal controls and take ownership of controls as needed
Develop knowledge of applicable tax laws and regulations.
Work with AP, AR, Direct Tax Reporting team, and Accounting to ensure tax compliance through the provision of process documents.
Perform tax research and analysis and prepare written documentation to support tax positions taken.
Properly evaluate requirements for local VAT and reclaim costs where applicable.
Implement and document tax compliance processes and improvements.
Experience Skill requirement-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline required. Master’s degree preferred.
Typically 8 years professional accounting experience with 2-4 years in area being managed
Experience in Public Accounting, Big 4 and Corporate Accounting highly desired. Certified Public Accountant, Qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA, or equivalent preferred
