Job Description : About Us
The IHS Markit Transaction Cost Analysis team provides independent research, trade analysis, and consulting services for multiple asset classes to the financial services community comprised of institutional asset managers and sell side broker dealers. The group provides trading analysis including actionable insights to the most challenging trade implementation questions: algorithmic trading performance, venue toxicity, and the impact of high frequency trading front-running to the client base.
Your Role
You will work as part of an agile Support team to support our all Products issues on day-to-day basics and provide solutions that satisfy the business requirements.
You will work closely with the team on support issues which required RDS, UNIX and some knowledge around AWS cloud environment. We are looking for a person who has good Database and Unix knowledge and who has worked on ticketing tool like JIRA and others.
Responsibilities will include:
L1 Technical Support for the client runs/migrations/reports wherever intervention is required
ETL and Customizations – Ability to onboard client data using different ETL methods and mapping Templates based on client provided mappings and able to test them end to end.
Client Operations – Running Historical data for clients as we are on migration path, we expect this to continue for a while. This will be done for all client data across various asset classes on Trading Analytics platform.
Apply strong technical skills and good business knowledge together with investigative techniques to identify and resolve issues efficiently and in a timely manner Jira and other ticketing tool knowledge.
Work on initiatives and continuous improvement process around proactive application health monitoring, reporting, and technical support.
Your Education and Expertise
Degree in Computer Science or related field from a top-tier institution.
Minimum 1-3 years of support experience with RDBS, UNIX and basic knowledge around AWS.
Good understanding of a relational database engine such as SQL Server
Knowledge of operating systems most especially Windows and Linux are a must.
Knowledge of, or experience of working in the financial services industry would be a plus
Excellent understanding of software systems and technology
A strong desire to keep up with all the latest developments in related technologies
Effective in communication both verbal and written.
Good working knowledge of RDBMS in writing simple queries.
Good working knowledge of Unix and Windows platform
Basic Knowledge around AWS so that initial tasks can be handled.
Python and scripting knowledge will be an added advantage.
