Your Role and Responsibilities

What do fraud detection, payment processing, predictive maintenance, and clickstream analytics have in common? They’re all powered by event driven infrastructures like IBM’s Apache Kafka capabilities – helping the industry to unlock a wealth of new information from their ever-increasing amounts of data.
Would you like to help us shape the future of this rapidly growing market, including contributing code to Apache Kafka, Strimzi and other relevant open source projects? We are looking for people who enjoy agile projects and pair programming, want to help grow IBM’s eminence in open source communities, and work directly with customers to help them succeed in their journey towards Event Driven solutions.
As a Software Developer, you will apply your deep expertise in UI technologies in architecting, designing, implementing various UI capabilities for IBM’s Event Processing solutions. You will also play a pivotal role in growing IBM’s eminence in the open source communities by becoming an active contributor to various open source projects such as Apache Kafka, Strimzi etc.
What You will do
As a Software Developer you will:-
Help us create the next generation of user interfaces to support the administration, authoring and consumption of Event Driven technologies
Work in a dynamic, collaborative environment to understand requirements, design, code and test event processing solutions, and support those applications for our highly valued customers
Be contributing to various open source projects including Apache Kafka, Strimzi
Directly work with customers to help them succeed in their journey towards Event Driven solutions.
Involve in building and orchestrating containerized services
Be contributing to all phases of software development
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
2-5 years of relevant industry experience
Experience in developing front end for web applications in React JS
Experience with Docker and container orchestration technologies such as Open Shift Container Platform, Kubernetes etc.
Hands-on experience in DevOps practice
Experienced in using version control tools like Git
Familiarity with Event Driven infrastructure like Kafka
Competency in Agile development
Proven communication skills
Autonomy, curiosity, and team spirit
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Knowledge in Openshift, operators etc.
Experienced in working with distributed teams
Hands on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Awareness of Open Standards
Self-Motivated and learning agility
