Imperium Commodity Search is working with a farming app that presents real-time data for horticulture farmers. They are looking to add a Head of Agriculture to lead their research team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Analyse soil/plants to help create digital recommendation tools for more efficient plant life cycle techniques from planting to harvesting, to improve harvest produce and help advise against any issues that may arise
Work to determine relationships between changes in environmental factors and soil characteristics and how to avoid damage from insects and diseases
Carry out research and assessments to detect and mitigate problems related to the nutrition and health of soil, harm by nature and any weather/ environmental related alterations and any effects created by products used for growth
Lead research and any other departments supporting in crop growth
Travel to complete inspections across agriculture to test for any abnormalities or problems
Provide detailed analysis/ reports on all aspects of agriculture that you have observed and keep records up to date
Help develop product offering, assist with crop modelling and aid other departments where necessary
Requirements:
Must have experience across plant and crop physiology
Has had 5+ years’ experience in a senior leadership/ management role within Agriculture Research
Knowledge of lifecycle of focussed products including tomatoes, chillies, pomegranates and grapes
Understanding of crop modelling/ horticulture
Demonstrate relevant industry knowledge and news/trends
Excellent skills in crop/ plant treatment
