Job Description : Job Family Definition:
Designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products. Develops software for monitoring and managing that interacts with container based services controlling high performance storage. This software interacts with HPE’s storage systems which are purpose-engineered to meet the demanding input/output requirements of supercomputers and HPC clusters. This includes the HPE’s Cray ClusterStor E1000 Storage Systems.
Management Level Definition:
Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.
Responsibilities:
Executes and writes portions of high level and detail level design plans for assigned portion of the application; identifies and debugs issues with code and suggests changes or improvements.
Participates as a member of project team of other software systems engineers to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions.
Designs enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software, including monitoring and management tools, utilities, databases, and related tools.
Analyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of overall architecture of product or solution.
Collaborates and communicates with management and lead architects regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
Represents the software systems engineering team for phases of larger and complex development features.
Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
Typically 5-7 years experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong working knowledge of high level python programming language required.
Expertise in multiple software systems design tools and languages.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Designing software systems running on cloud platforms, specifically Docker or more preferably Kubernetes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels
Works well with other team members, confidently reaching out and asking and answering questions.
Experience with github. (git)
Experience with Agile software development using Jira and confluence a plus.
