As a Software Development Engineer, you will help solve a variety of technical challenges. You will play an active role in translating business and functional requirements, building the architectural stack to combine robotics and physical stores capabilities into concrete deliverables and build quick prototypes or proofs of concept in partnership with other technology leaders within the team. You will help invent new features, design, develop and deploy reliable distributed services. You will work with a variety of core languages and technologies including Java, C++, Linux.

You will tackle challenging situations every day and you’ll have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams at Amazon. You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity that’s higher than most projects and relish the idea of solving problems. Along the way, we guarantee that you’ll learn a ton, have fun and make a positive impact on many customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS·

Proficiency with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.
Knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM related field such as IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering and/or the equivalent years of professional work experience & training.
Knowledge in the frontend technologies (React.js/Angular) is a plus.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS·

Previous technical internship(s)
Experience with distributed, multi-tiered systems, algorithms, and relational databases
Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
Adept at handling ambiguous or undefined problems as well as ability to think abstractly.
Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or Engineering
Strong, object-oriented design and coding skills (C/C++ and/or Java preferably on a UNIX or Linux platform)
Knowledge of Perl or other scripting languages a plus
Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases
Experience in optimization mathematics (linear programming, nonlinear optimization)
Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly
Previous technical internship(s) preferred
