Job Title: Senior Software Engineer
Department & Team: R&D – PLATFORM ENGINEERING – DIGITAL DEV
Reports to: Manager – QA
Location: Chennai

Summary:
The primary responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and good engineering judgment in anticipating and solving various engineering problems
Work collaboratively with development and QA teams during all stages of software development life cycle
Estimate project test efforts, create test plan and test cases for new features
Development, documentation, and execution of automated tests across all stages of the product development lifecycle following best practices and methods
Develop and maintain automated test environments

Technical Experience and Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent education
4+ years’ experience in software testing and validation
2+ years of practical experience with test automation tools
Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
Experience with backend testing
Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language, preferably JavaScript/TypeScript, C#/Java
Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins, Github actions, TeamCity, Bamboo, …)
Comfortable with Linux command-line tools, scripting as plus

Desirable Skills:
Experience with Docker
Experience with k8s
Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP
Practical experience in testing of distributed system (debugging techniques / fault isolation)
Practical experience with relational DBs such as MSSQL, Oracle, Postgres DB
Experience with version control systems such as git
Knowledge of agile development methodologies

Personal Skills and Abilities:
Strong problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills
Highly organized and self-motivated
Ability to work well alone and as part of a distributed multicultural team
Excellent communication and writing skills
Fluency in English
