Under general supervision, supports tax reporting and compliance with a core understanding of the Internal Revenue Code or applicable statutory authority and it’s applicability to financial (general ledger) data. May support the monthly general ledger close, analyze financial accounting data on a monthly basis, and perform an account analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts. Reviews functions of more junior staff and provides insight with regard to optimization of internal controls. Evaluates reasonableness of assumptions made in tax calculations and determining relevant facts and arriving at conclusion supported by laws. Works with tax law and accounting provisions, assists with preparation of statutory filings and/or tax returns, and provides support to Tax Managers in audits and preparation of responses to various taxing authority notices. Completion of an undergraduate degree in Accounting or related field required and a minimum of 2 years related experience required.
Job Title: Tax Advisor
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Handling GST compliances for all Halliburton entities
Analysing tax implications for day to day transactions and putting checks and controls in place
Liasioning with tax officers in relation to the ongoing tax assessments and preparation of details as requested by tax officers
Handling audits
Reconciliations of books with tax/GST returns and identifying process gaps and implementing methods to bridge the gap
Posting reconciliation entries on month end along with review and clearing of tax entries and its balances in books
Corresponding with different business functions and resolving tax related issues with proper tax advice
Ensuring compliance for all corporate and internal reporting as required by tax function
Basic Qualifications: Chartered Accountant with 2+years of work experience
Total Years of Experience: 2 years of work experience post qualification
Desired/Preferred Expertise: Good knowledge of Indian tax laws along with expertise on Microsoft Excel and Spreadsheets. Basic knowledge of SAP accounting system and accounting standards is required.
Characteristics: Ability to work under pressure, multi-tasking, team player.
