Working as a Senior Backend Engineer at Signify is dynamic. You‘ll be working on connected technologies with IoT platforms. We’re greater together through peer learning in our globally diverse team, with different backgrounds and nationalities. We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who’ll be responsible for understanding the product requirements, design, development and test back-end software for Lighting Products.
You’ll be part of the Signify Connected Systems and its responsibilities are building IOT based Smart Lighting products, so Problem Solving, Taking ownership, Accountability, Drive for results must be in your DNA.
What you’ll do
Enhance existing and/or develop new software that enables the launch of new cloud-based applications.
Collaborate with analysts and designers in the development and initiation of new software programs and applications.
Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications.
Research and identify 3rd party architectures, products, tools and frameworks that can be leveraged to create solutions that best meet technical and functional requirements.
Analyze risk and report problems in meeting technical and functional requirements.
Lead efforts to analyze alternatives, develop proofs-of-concepts, and document results (including engineering notes, issues and lessons learned).
Participate in design and code reviews.
What you’ll need
Bachelors or Master’s degree in Engineering with 5+ years’ experience in developing Web based application using J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot
Experience producing/ consuming REST Web services, micro services architecture
Strong knowledge of Web Application architecture and Servlet/JSP/JSF programming
Excellent knowledge of database concepts, data modeling tools, and use of relational DBMS.
Experience using MySql, PostgreSQL and Tomcat technologies and tools
