WORK IN A TEAM RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL THE COMPANY DATA TECHNOLOGIES ( production and labs )
LEGACY SYSTEMS ARE ON PREMISES USING ORACLE DATABASE
NEW SYSTEMS ARE BUILT AS MICROSERVICES IN AMAZON CLOUD USING THE FOLLOWING TECHNOLOGIES : CASSANDRA , KAFKA , ES , POSTGRES , REDIS
ROLE SUMMARY:
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior DBA to be a part of the company’s Data team.
Experience with Oracle is mandatory alongside experience with other data technologies.
The team is responsible for traditional on-premise legacy applications running with Oracle Database:
HA , Backups , monitoring , upgrading , patching , writing maintenance procedures ( PL/SQL and Python) , query tuning and support for developers. (production and labs)
The team is also responsible for all data solutions supporting our micro services platform running in cloud, including : ElasticSearch , Redis , Oracle, Postgres , Cassanadra and Kafka .
The team is responsible to participate in service design and match the right data technology to the use case .
In the Cloud we code the infrastructure and deploy changes through git and develop tools for investigation , supporting the open source technologies where they lack such tools.
The team is required to automate installations, deployments and maintenance procedures in order to be ready for tens of deployed environments
The Team Provides training and technical guidance in planning and implementing strategic technology initiatives including but not limited to upgrading and patching.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Micro services support: Participate in the design, implementation and on-going support of all operational data in the different technologies – matching each use case with the adequate data technology
Support software projects involving the database infrastructure and data pipeline.
Developing automation procedures and applications.
Responsiveness to alerts and production issues (The team provides a 24/7 on-call cover for critical issues).
Design, implement and upgrade cost-effective fault-tolerant architecture.
work with developers to design and build new structures to support application enhancements and promote database changes throughout the Dev, UAT and Prod databases.
Manage databases in cloud environments such as Amazon ( and code the infrastructure with Terraform )
Troubleshoot and support existing database processes; deliver fixes and optimizations where appropriate.
REQUIREMENTS:
10+ years of experience in information technology.
At least 5 years of experience as an Oracle DBA in a fast-paced, rapid-growth and intensive environment
2+ years of experience with Amazon cloud managed RDS and tools
Some experience with NoSQL technologies like Kafka , Redis, MongoDB, Cassandra , ElasticSearch
Experience with database performance tuning.
Strong programming skills (Bash, Python, Go)
Experience with Git
Experience with Cloud environments (preferably AWS )
Experience with infrastructure coding tools (preferably Terraform)
Experience with Oracle 19, Oracle Datagaurd
Experience working with Linux OS
