About this role
Is key to the preparation and reporting of monthly, quarterly and annual group consolidated accounts in accordance with with Group policies and International financial reporting standards
Is key to management reporting of Group financial information
Is a key point of contact on the Group Consolidation
Plays a critical role in risk management for the Group
Supports a range of stakeholders including External Reporting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury and CFUs/Corporate Units.
You’ll have the following responsibilities
To work on various aspects of Group Consolidation and application of IFRS accounting to the group consolidated accounts.
Responsibility for the monthly consolidation process – Ensuring all Entities submit and sign off the results on time.
Approving and posting consolidation journals ensuring appropriate reviews.
Addressing system related queries from CFUs (BPC/SAP and Oracle/GCS)
To work closely with Group External reporting, FP&A, Investor Relations, regulatory, pension and taxation department in the provision of accounting information and the resolution of issues arising from this information
To prepare notes and information for the BT Group and BT Plc Annual Reports actively engaging with CFUs/Corporate Units on any issues arising
Preparing periodic reporting and analysis including AdHoc SmartView/AFO reports
Coaching and training finance analyst within the Group Consolidation team
Act as support to the Finance Manager responsible for the Group Consolidation
Support senior manager with any ad hoc queries or projects arising from different stakeholders
Focus on operating controls effectively
Assist with testing during system upgrades and implementations
You’ll have the following skills & experience
Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
Significant post qualification experience
Understanding of Group consolidation accounting and application of IFRS (Investment eliminations/Intercompany)
Problem solving
Taking ownership in addressing and closing issues
Excellent excel skills
Appreciation for controls and process improvement
Commitment to meeting deadlines
Strong communicator.
DESIRED skills:
Comfortable with rapid change
Like being challenged.
MANDATORY
Post qualification role in a Group consolidation team enviroment
Controls experience – Focus on operating controls effectively
Liaise with internal and external auditors.
PREFERRED
Focus on automation and process improvement
System experience Oracle HFM consolidation system and SAP BPC/SAP S/4 HANA preferred but not essential
