Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Rights & Permissions (India), the Rights and Permissions Senior Associate is responsible for ensuring all third-party content use, across all functions and activities, in India Higher Education, meets Pearson standards, policies, strategies, and business objectives as well as shows continuous performance improvement. The Senior Associate uses a rights management system and proactive engagement with business stakeholders and content development teams to drive best rights and sourcing practices, contain risk, and enable business goals.

Key Responsibilities: –
Embeds rights management strategy into business unit and effectively manages and monitors rights management stakeholders.
Manage relationships with suppliers and the business, particularly with regards to rights, policy and process adherence.
Manage third party asset clearance, progress/monitoring and assessment of clearance issues during work in progress e.g. high fees, reply deadlines.
Collaborate on risk assets and impact/s with the business stakeholders.
Collaborates with colleagues in content/development/editorial/media teams to embed R&P best practice in workflows and process.
Provide subject matter expertise on IP requirements, policies and tools/systems to businesses.
Monitor and assess decision-making on 3 Tier strategy, third party content compliance, risk management and escalation if required.
Communicates proactively with the Manager, Rights & Permissions, India, to ensure business needs are met.
Ensure rights data is captured, managed and tracked in Rights Capture and later in Blueprint and IPM.
Ensure dealings with all stakeholders is professional, courteous, and highly efficient and meets the Pearson values; accountable, brave, decent and imaginative.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience with educational publisher or equivalent, with strong working copyright knowledge and experience in permissions in particular
Excellent project management skills
Fluent in both written and spoken English
Database expertise—input, reporting, tracking & auditing
Working knowledge of LMS/EMS systems or online content delivery platforms
Advanced computer skills including Word, Smartsheets, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and general office equipment as dictated by each position
Undergraduate Degree or requisite experience, including combination of education, professional training, and experience
Strong language, grammar, and communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to manage/delegate multiple tasks
Strong interpersonal and business correspondence skills
Creative, ideas person who can suggest new ways of working
Demonstratable problem solving ability
Team player with an ability to build collaboration and consensus
Able to listen, support and motivate internal and external teams and stakeholders
Able to achieve in a time-pressured environment
