MAIN JOB PURPOSE:
This role requires delivering data visualization projects for the D&A Ops reporting team. The role as visualization specialist includes understanding business requirement, prototype creation, dashboard development and accommodation of Change Requests.
The role must ensure adoption and application of Unilever design principles in all the dynamic front end solutions delivered through D&A operations.
MS Power BI is Unilever’s preferred tool for dashboard and report building going forwards. The person should work with Power BI COE platform leads within D&A, UPM and other service lines to deliver best practice and value for money from the tool. In this SME hat the key responsibilities include –
Landing latest Power BI features to drive business value
Acting as a tool gatekeeper for resilience. Closely work with D&A tech team to get the tool limitation addressed
Ensure that right support is received for live dashboards from MS wherever there is a bug escalated to them
Partner with global practice teams and stakeholders to review design and define best solutions
JOB SUMMARY
1. Projects / Changes
Understand business requirements by thorough conversations with the business/stakeholders.
Develop wireframes for the build of the dashboard and actively engage with 3P resources through the course of development.
Document all communication on feedback and changes from the stakeholders to ensure transparency.
Identify potential performance issues and proactively tweak the design for best performance. If not have a transparent discussion with stakeholders asking for their support.
Act as a gatekeeper to ensure CRs are applied in a controlled way.
Should maintain high level functional and technical designs; sign off design of Change Request (CRs) from Power BI design perspective and oversight all the build and test activities based on that design.
2. Continuous improvements and Innovation
Should be part of all continuous improvements in BAU through regular checks, planned services, actions out of root cause analysis and KEC.
Co-ordinates improvements on the performance of the tools and reporting solution
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 4+ years of exclusive experience in PowerBI platform.
Awareness of Unilever visualization guidelines and front-end design principles
Experience using Power BI with wide variety of sources and combining information from them, including Microsoft Project Online, SharePoint, Excel and SQL Database.
Building a data model and creating complex DAX measures and calculated columns to derive best possibly insight into data.
Building and maintaining dynamic row-level security into data models and implementing best practice to administer permissions.
Understanding of data sources and how they operate, to produce queries with excellent performance and minimal use of cloud resources.
Process knowledge in business project management
Team lead with managing team of 5+ people including 3Ps with different skill sets across globe
Experience in showing Proof of Concepts (PoC) and understanding business requirements
Strong Information reporting background and good to have In-depth understanding reporting tech stack
Exposure of Agile project management and DevOps team culture
Experience of working in Global environment and managing global teams
Preferable :
4 to 6 years of relevant* experience.
*experience in FMCG/Manufacturing Unit/KPO/IT Industry
Understanding of Financial and Accounting Concepts, Azure platform, Python
Advanced MS Office application skills .i.e. Power BI, Excel-Power query, vb script, word and PPT.
Education :
Professional qualification in Finance/Supply chain/Marketing (Ex: Chartered Accountant, MBA – Finance/Marketing)
