WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH

You’ll join the Product, Practice and Knowledge (PPK) department as part of the Knowledge Management team that supports various “Practices”.

“Practices” are how we group and organize our solutions and products based on our clients’ industry or business function. They’re integral to how we win and deliver results to our clients and are a key strategic priority within our firm. The Knowledge Management (KM) team is critical to harnessing the best of our consulting staffs’ individual and collective expertise, making it possible for us to deliver extraordinary results for our clients.

The Energy & Natural Resources (ENR) practice, consists of five sectors: Agribusiness, Chemicals, Mining, Oil & Gas and Utilities. Themes like sustainability, technology, digital innovation are at the core of these sectors and will be occupy even greater center in the work pertaining to these industries. You would be working closely with the broader team of Knowledge Managers, Practice Area Managers/ Consultants in this practice.

WHERE YOU’LL FIT WITHIN THE TEAM

The Knowledge Senior Manager is responsible for setting the strategic direction and continuous improvement in core Knowledge Management activities for the global ENR Practice. Your primary responsibility will be overseeing the knowledge management function globally, including ongoing management and professional development for the global Knowledge team. You will quickly develop a deep understanding of the practice in order to provide exceptional service to practice leaders and case teams and serve as a thought leader within practice management.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Set the strategic direction for Knowledge Management in the ENR Practice
Ensure each activity is prioritized appropriately, content gaps are identified and filled, and most critical IP is captured and commercialized
Work closely with the Practice Managers to determine Knowledge Capture priorities
Drive the ongoing evolution and improvement of global Knowledge Capture & Sharing activities and knowledge team operating model to ensure seamless workings
Manage Global knowledge management team resources (approx. 10 individuals)
Includes management of day-to-day work, oversight for professional development, training, coaching, consensus reviewer responsibility, and long-term resource planning & recruitment
Acts as an inspiring and motivating people manager
Develops and adapts KM team operating model to practice and business needs
Oversees KM team capacity and enables expertise-building assignments
Develop deep understanding of the practice offerings to provide exceptional service to case teams and serve as a thought leader within practice management.
Drives team strategy around practice request process
Accountable for request quality standards within KM practice team purview
Leverages practice expertise to influence the IP agenda
Actively contribute to the practice and broader PPK team through leading practice-wide initiatives (team communications, events, feedback) and ensuring the ENR Practice is engaged in and contributing to PPK- and firm-wide initiatives.

ABOUT YOU

BA/equivalent degree with 16+ years of relevant experience or MBA/equivalent postgraduate degree with 14+ years of relevant experience with strong academic credentials
Experience in a professional services firm, ideally with exposure to one or more of the following disciplines: consulting, research and analysis, knowledge management, strategic planning, business development, product development, marketing, and/or project management
10+ years of experience managing team of employees. Proven track record of coaching and developing junior team members and other internal stakeholders.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, can drive senior level discussions succinctly to favorable outcomes, can engage with colleagues across the globe and in different time zones
Interest in gaining deep experience within ENR.
A strong team player and demonstrated ability to motivate team members
Maturity to lead by example and manage highly confidential information
Willingness to get into detail as required while also balancing delegation effectively
Ability to positively influence culture
Superior customer service attitude
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Working knowledge of tools like Alteryx and Tableau is a ‘nice to have’
