Team and Position Summary:

Demand Forecasting is a core function of supply chain driving replenishment, sourcing, capacity and transportation plans. Improved accuracy of demand forecasting will help enhance sales and customer experience while reducing operational cost and wastage to the tune of billions of dollars. Doing this at Walmart’s scale makes it one of the largest and most challenging problems of its kind in the world while also being the most impactful.

Our team is enabling internal users to review and manage forecasting through an application. We are looking for a software engineer with a solid understanding of big data technology with Java, Spark, Elastic to help create SLA driven data pipeline for applications across markets in Walmart.

Position Responsibilities:
Write efficient and quality code that can work @ Walmart scale
Learn various aspects around data elements and their relevance to business.
End-to-end ownership of your business stories including development, deployment to QA, and production.
Adopt Walmart’s quality standards and develop and recommend process standards and best practices across the retail industry
Research, learn & adapt new technologies to solve problems & improve existing solutions
Participate in events to build innovative solutions
Be responsible for on-call support on a need basis.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.

Position Requirements:

Minimum qualifications:
B.E/B.Tech from a reputed institution.
Minimum of 3 years of solid Java experience.
Good understanding of Big Data Ecosystem – Hadoop and Spark.
Must have project experience with Spark.
Ability to independently troubleshoot Spark jobs.
Good understanding of distributed systems.
Fast learner and quickly adapt to new technologies.
Prefer individuals with high ownership and commitment.
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to different platforms as per the need of the project.

Additional Qualifications:
Hands-on working experience in Elastic Search and Sprint Boot
Detailed knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
Exposure to cloud infrastructures, such as Azure, GCP, or AWS
