The Opportunity:
OpenText Cloud Operations is responsible for the global operations and delivery of our Open Text cloud services to clients in multiple industries. Our offerings range from shared, multitenant SaaS offerings to Managed Services supporting Enterprise Clients and are hosted on a variety of infrastructure platforms. The Cloud Operations team is responsible for defining the technical platform and partnering with our engineering and security teams to deliver solutions using a DevSecOps approach.
The OpenText Sr. Cloud Applications Engineer will be part of a global team of engineers responsible for the deployment, management, performance tuning, configuration and troubleshooting of the infrastructure that powers delivery of the Legal Tech products.
You are great at:
Participate in strategic projects and implementing solutions to meet desired outcomes and standards.
Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot AWS Services (EC2, EBS, ECS, S3, ECS, RDS etc.)
Upgrade and security patching of Operating Systems and applications according to vendor recommendation
Participate in troubleshooting, capacity planning, performance tuning
Stay current with public cloud technology and product offerings
Participate in the infrastructure automation initiative.
Participate in on-call rotation and ensure that operational and service level agreements are operationally met through SLI and SLO monitoring, analysis, and incident responses.
All other duties as directed.
Responsible to understand and implement solutions to meet desired business outcomes and standards.
Responsible for design, deployment, and support automation of continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline operations per account and organizational requirements.
Good understanding on Cloud Design patterns like HA, Scalability, Data management.
Respond to and troubleshoot alerts from monitoring of applications, servers, and devices sufficient to meet service level agreements
Collaborating on cross-team and cross-product technical issues with a variety of resources including Product support, IT, and Professional Services.
What it takes:
B.Tech in computer science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Hands on experience with Windows and Linux OS.
5-10 years of work experience in cloud and enterprise solutions.
Experience with automation platforms like Jenkins, GitLabCI
Experience in scripting languages like Python, Shell scripting and Powershell.
Experience with Cloud providers like AWS.
Strong understanding of ITIL processes
Experience with container and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
Hands-on implementation of ECS and EKS Container services and deployment strategies.
Experience with Infrastructure as a Code(IaC) and configuration management tools like Terraform, Ansible or Salt.
Experience monitoring cloud services with New Relic, Zabbix, Cloudwatch, ELK
Experience with twelve-factor development methodology for building software-as-a-service applications
Strong understanding of industry best practices and standards.
Experience working with highly complex enterprise systems
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure systems
