Role Description
Role Description: Splunk Developer

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technology developer with experience in developing scalable applications and platforms. They must be at ease working in an agile environment with little supervision. The person should be a self-motivated person with a passion for problem solving and continuous learning.

Role and responsibilities

Enhance or Prepare new Splunk dashboard using inbuilt and custom elements (require advance dashboarding experience)
Develop Splunk and Splunk UBA content to meet customer specified requirements
Configuring data inputs, filters and define dynamic SPL
Create/manage Splunk indexes in a standalone/clustered environment while maintaining/improving performance
Create Cyber-focused Splunk dashboards and visualizations to drive security enablement, accountability, and support incident triage.
Employ standard Splunk visualization elements, including charts and tables, and use drill downs and form inputs.
Leverage knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to change standard Splunk dashboard styles to produce a professional and custom UI.
Interface directly with clients to comprehend requirements, expected outcomes and demonstrate POC/final product.
Work as part of a larger team delivering a broad range of Cybersecurity services to top commercial clients.

Technical skills requirements

The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in,

Splunk 7.x / 8.x or similar SIEM technologies
Middleware messaging services (e.g. Kafka, Oracle golden gate)
Database experience (say Postgrase, Oracle or any other SQL based DB)
Experience with creating Splunk dashboards, proficiency with Regular Expressions, Splunk Visualizations, SPL searches, accelerated data model, Splunk APIs, Dashboards and Drill-downs
Proficiency with creating custom Splunk Add-ons for new and unique sources and source types
Ability to perform basic and advanced scripting tasks with Splunk to automate repeatable processes using Python (e.g build environment & troubleshooting)
Experience with both the Linux, UNIX and Windows operating systems, comfortable on the command line interface
Working knowledge or recent experience with scripting languages (bash), regex, application development (python, javascript), databases and analytical tools
Experience with HTML, CSS, or JavaScript
Ability to quickly explore, examine and understand complex problems and how it relates to the customers’ business
Proficiency in working with large distributed datasets
Ability to be a team player in a fast-paced environment
Impeccable written and verbal communication skills (English)

Qualifications

3 to 6 years of work experience in Splunk dashboard development
B.Tech., M.Tech. or MCA degree from a reputed university
