Position Summary:
To support our monthly accounting operations, the staff accountant will primarily be responsible for preparing monthly close schedules, journal entries, and account reconciliations. In addition, they will be tasked with documenting monthly and quarterly variance explanations to support management requests. This is a fast-paced work environment centered around the integration of Mergers & Acquisitions. In 2018, we closed on three acquisitions including one for $2.3 billion. As a result, departmental goals and ad-hoc requests will create various additional responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide detailed variance explanations on the movement of financial statement accounts
Assist in the preparation of monthly accounting reporting packages
Design ad hoc management reporting
Review current monthly close procedures and provide recommendations on any changes
Prepare monthly journal entries to the general ledger
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare and provide documentation for internal and external auditors
Support the integration of acquired companies
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have the following experience and skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required
Public Accounting or Corporate Accounting experience is required
CPA candidate; CPA is a plus
Understanding of US GAAP
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
High degree of initiative, positive attitude, and integrity.
Team player who can collaborate with other teams in the organization.
