Job Description : The primary area of responsibility for this position is billing/accounts receivable. Position requires the ability to work on a variety of tasks, function as an integral part of multiple project management teams, and coordinate with other staff while meeting deadlines. It is important that this position can support project teams from initial project start-up through project completion. This position may be an entry-level position geared for professional learning, growth, and increased responsibility.A Day in the Life of an Accountant / Biller at HansonHere’s a snapshot of what you would do in this role:Assist project team to safeguard new projects are set up within contract parameters as well as Hanson and GAAP guidelines.Manage project assignments to generate clean, concise invoices in the most efficient manner per client specifications and corporate policies.Supply troubleshooting services to project teams to meet both project and accounting needs.Utilize available software to review/analyze project budgets, revenues, and variances, identify problem areas, and provide solutions.Learn client accounts payable portals to manage invoice delivery as necessary Support project team in accounts receivable collection efforts.Perform market/client analysis and project billing/general ledger reconciliations.What We’re Looking ForWe feel the following qualifications would set you up for success in this role:Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree in AccountingTechnical Skills: Adept grasp of generally accepted accounting principles.Understanding of enterprise resource planning (ERP) system fundamentals a plus.Demonstrated experience with MS Office Suite products (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, etc.)Familiarity with advanced Excel skills (Macros, VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, graphs, etc.) is a plusSoft Skills: Requires skills to convey complex technical concepts to engineers, clients, and external stakeholders.Must exhibit professional and courteous traits to build effective relationships with internal and external clients.Must be able to work both independently and as a team member to problem solve and learn new technical skills.Possess an ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines.Working at Hanson: Must be able to collaborate remotely with colleagues in other offices.Candidate must be willing to work overtime to meet project demands.Must possess a valid driver’s license.As employers/governmental contractors, we comply with government regulations, including affirmative action responsibilities where they apply.
