If you are looking for an in-house position that offers a variety of work, this is the opportunity you’ve been looking for.Summary/Objective: The Development & Construction Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day financial activities for multiple development projects including daily transaction oversight, performing account reconciliations, development cash management, and preparation monthly financial reports. They are also responsible for each of the project and entity general ledgers as well as communicating correct accounting and performance information to stakeholders. As needed, they will assist with reporting and corporate entity and property management accounting. These activities include maintaining adequate controls and regular financial tracking and reporting.Essential Functions: Knowledge of accounting processes, procedures, and controls related to real estate construction and developmentStrong analytical and communication skillsDetail orientedApply (and when appropriate, document) policies, procedures, and controls necessary for mitigating risk and enhancing the accuracy of reported financial resultsPrepare entries and ensure daily activity is recorded and month-end accruals are appropriately capturedResponsible for the timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple assigned entities and projects, including variance to budget analyses, bank reconciliations, supporting schedules, etc.Apply appropriate accounting techniques and standard practices when inputting, tracking, analyzing, reconciling and reporting to ensure accuracy and reasonableness.Meet and coordinate with project managers to ensure period-end accruals are reasonably estimated and recorded on a timely basis with appropriate support and documentation attached.Manage construction and development fixed asset and depreciation schedules.Participate in process improvement from an accounting perspective.NOTE: The duties listed are intended to describe the general scope of the work for the role.
