Job Description : Ascent Resources is seeking a Corporate Accountant. This position is located in Oklahoma City, OK and will report to the Financial Reporting Supervisor.

The Accountant I is primarily responsible for assisting in the preparation of financial statements and analysis of financial reporting results. This includes various journal entries and reconciliations as part of the monthly and quarterly close process and preparing, collecting and interpreting financial information, which includes cost analysis, performance metrics and various other reports for management.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of the monthly and quarterly financial close packagesPerform various duties in connection with the monthly, quarterly and annual close processPrepare various journal entriesPrepare and maintain monthly account reconciliationsPerform accounting and operational analysis for internal and external reportingPerform related duties as assigned by supervisorMaintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Minimum Requirements:

Ability to analyze data and solve problemsAbility to sort through large amounts of data to determine accuracy and identify unusual variations
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principlesHigh degree of accuracy and attention to detailDemonstrate basic computer knowledge through effective use of a personal computer including Microsoft Office applications. Able to learn company specific applicationsAble to effectively manage time and prioritize projects in order to meet established deadlinesExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsAble to work effectively with all levels of co-workers, clients, and other external contacts
Able to effectively abide by company policies, procedures, and technologyAble to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a teamAble to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately

Education & Work Experience Required
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Preferred
CPA is preferred, but not required
1-2 years related work experience
