CSD encourages and supports the use of telework. In accordance with the CSD Telework Policy, this position is eligible for telework but may require in-person attendance, when necessary.
Under direct supervision of the Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor), the Accountant I (Specialist) performs semi-professional accounting work in the establishment and maintenance of accounts and records as they relate to the cash receipts and encumbrance processes. The Accountant I (Specialist) is responsible for financial transactions dealing with the federal and general funding of the Department, ensuring that transactions are accomplished in accordance with State and Federal rules and regulations.

Additional Information
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Community Services (CSD) enacted a temporary telework policy consistent with State requirements. Telework continues to be offered and encouraged by CSD for any employee who can effectively perform their essential work functions remotely. All telework schedules are temporary, based on current conditions, and staff may be required to report to headquarters upon CSD’s re-evaluation of its telework policy due to changing conditions statewide. At this time, there will be no entitlement for compensation related to reporting to headquarters or for costs incurred due to increased utility usage while teleworking.
Priority consideration will be given to Reemployment, Departmental Restriction of Appointment (DROA), State Restriction of Appointment (SROA), and Surplus candidates.
