If you enjoy working with team members whose defining characteristics are achievement, initiative, professionalism, responsiveness and adaptability, you may be the person we are seeking to join our Accounting and Analysis department in Chicago as an Accountant III.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for internal financial statement preparation including adjusting journal entries, balance sheet, cash flows statement and various other reports and spreadsheets that are necessary to be completed for the firmwide distributions
Performs various analyses and reviews on balance sheet and income statement accounts which includes reconciliations where necessary. May be required to follow up with other departments as needed
Assists with various non-Chicago office accounting. This includes processing accounts payable, bank reconciliations, applications of cash receipts and any other issues that arise
Monitors cash flow for the firm including the preparation of cash projections
Assists with the annual audit including the preparation of various audit schedules. Must be able to resolve audit issues as they arise
Prepares various sales/usetax and related returns
Assists with federal and state audits, must be able to effectively communicate with auditors to resolve issues as they arise
Compiles information and complete complex government surveys as needed
Responsinble for check signing as needed
Performs other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectives
Qualifications:

Education/Training/Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), preferred
Professional Experience:
Minimum eight years applicable experience required
Technical Skills:
Must be computer proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Able to work with SQL Scripts
Aderant experience a plus

Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all levels of the Firm and outside vendors
Ability to work in a diverse team environment and effectively support the demanding needs of the Firm

Strong customer service skills, able to anticipate needs and exercise independent judgement
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects
Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion
Exercises solid strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements:
May require occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
